2010 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas
William and I attended the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show last week in Las Vegas.

Our work requested for us to go out and see the new technologies and exhibits for inspiration that we could then translate into our current interior design projects. The convention is the largest of its kind and reveals the projected consumer electronics that will release through out the year. The amount of money that goes into each booth is amazing and some of the largest companies had overwhelming exhibits spanning large areas with interior “living rooms” and theaters.

The show had about 120,000 attendees and ran for 4 days. Several notable figures were there including Steve Balmer (Microsoft CEO), Lady Gaga, Drew Carey, and Stan Lee (we had our photo taken with him!).

Looks like the trend for displays this year will be slimmer LED TVs and 3D TV through DirectTV, video games and movies. There were dozens of new E-readers and Pico Projectors. We saw quite a few new game demos like Heavy Rain, Gran Turismo 5 and God of War 3.

We went out on the strip every night we were there. Saw the volcano eruption at The Mirage, the Song of the Sirens at Treasure Island and the fountains at the Bellagio (videos on YouTube):
Bellagio Fountains - Pink Panther
Bellagio Fountains - Hey, Big Spender
We also saw a couple shows. One was a water show with live performers created by Cirque du Soleil at The Wynn and The Lion King Musical at Mandalay Bay.

We had a great time and I hope we get to go back next year! For a full set of pictures from the trip, check out my Flickr account.
